Murder Case
Kit and Bastet returned the necklace for the ghost girl. Apparently, the server from the night before had it and sold it to Bastet. They returned it last night. Daksh and I went back to camp after dinner and missed that whole ordeal but I'm not complaining at all. I didn't want to go back to that creepy house anyway.

In the morning, we began investigating the murder of Alia. We were told the Calygni live outside of town in caves near the docks. We head that way and speak with Meerata's family We found out the accused is a Calygni named Meerata. Next, we head to the talent competition and the general consensus is that nobody involved in the competition believes she committed the murder.

We headed to the inn where the victim was staying. Her room looked like someone was looking for something. In the mess, I found some notes from Rat. They were love letters, five in all. He seemed like he was infatuated with her.

Like a Ras
We managed to find Alua in the tavern. Luckily enough, she was our server. We ate dinner and waited for the dinner rush to slow down. I asked her if she had time to talk, and she looked very nervous about my request. She hid in the kitchen until we departed. Daksh left her some sort of note on the recept for our meal.

After leaving the tavern, Ash and Daksh went back to the camp. Bastet and I went to the shopping district to get some paper to write a note of our own.

After she received my note. She reluctantly agreed to show us to her home and sell us Maisey’s necklace. Her house was a mess, and it took quite a while to locate the necklace. Luckily Bastet was able to find it. I thanked her and paid her for the necklace.

On the way back to Maisey’s house, we were approached by some vagabonds. They threatened us and demanded our money. One of them made a rude gesture at Bastet. After we refused they tried to strike us with blades. Bastet fended off her attacker and threw another dagger at him as he ran. I scared mine off with a display of raw destructive fire.

After returning the necklace to Maisey, she thanked me and then disappeared. It felt as if a great weight had been lifted from the house.

I went next door to see if I could get any information from Ailla. After some persistence, she swung the door open and told me I could find what I was looking for at the docks. Then the door slammed closed.

When we returned to the camp. Kallisha and Ari were waiting up for us. They said they had been worried about us. To be honest, it was nice that they were concerned. But we are adults who can handle ourselves. Bastet was going back and forth a bit with Ari, and I used this as my opportunity to escape. Kallisha caught my eye as a snuck away.

The next morning, I told Daksh about the murder I had heard about involving the fashion competition. Ash Bastet Daksh and I set out to start our investigation.

Daksh got a little information from Iss, the woman that ran the competition. He then wanted to open a formal inquiry with the local council. I wasn’t having any of it. This government is very corrupt here. I don’t want them squashing our investigation before it begins. And if they see us as a threat to their power, they will stop it nothing to make sure anything we discover never gets to the public. Including going after the members of the caravan.

As it turned out, the girl that had been accused of Alia’s murder was the daughter of Baious. Her name is Meerata.

None of the participants in the competition think that Meerata is involved.

After investigating the scene where the body was found, I found a paint chip. There is only one participant that uses paint like the paint chip that I found. It is either her, or someone is attempting to frame her.

There are still many leads to follow before we wrap up this investigation. I just hope we are quick enough to evade the council before they catch wind of us and our underground investigation.

Vegetable Broth and Session 10 Notes
Vegetable Broth

4 carrots
3 celery stalks
1 onion
5 cloves garlic
3 tsp olive oil
1 tbsp salt
1/2 tbsp pepper
10 cups water

Wash all vegetables (don't peel) and cut into large pieces. Smash the garlic cloves, peel them, and add. Heat olive oil in a pot and add vegetables. Sauté for 5 minutes, then add water. Stir in salt and pepper. Bring the broth to a boil, then reduce to a simmer and cover. Simmer gently for 45 minutes. Strain the vegetable broth into containers. If it doesn't add up to 8 cups, add water to get it there.

Session 10 Notes
Business is confusing. After our fight we had some time to figure things out, and most of the party did some research at the library. We decided to get a new job, and we ended up fighting some interesting goblins. They were surprisingly strong, but Scotti was up for the challenge. Burly is silvered and Scotti is giving rides.

2 cups chopped carrots
1 1/2 tsp grated fresh ginger
1 T apple cider vinegar
3-4 cups vegetable broth
Salt and pepper to taste

Heat olive oil over medium heat. Add onions, salt, and pepper and stir occasionally while cooking until softened. Smash garlic cloves and add along with chopped carrots, cook and stir. Stir in ginger, then apple cider vinegar and vegetable broth. Reduce heat and cook until carrots are soft. Let cool and blend until smooth. Season.

9th Session Notes
The celebration to Volen was very loud. I forgot it was even coming up, we've gotten so wrapped up in this adventuring. Ras'af has disappeared, and we have to find him. Hopefully someone comes up with some way, as they often do. We had an organized fight with another adventuring group, and we won, though I missed it. Scotti is enthusiastic and Tagrimm is lupine.

Egil's awesome guide to booze

Yes so people liked it when I wrote about hats so now I am going to tell you a bit more about a very important thing you need to know.

The important thing is this: booze. Or well...good booze. So I am going to give you a good guide to good booze in Ridgeport so you know what to get when you visit Tiff and Amy's or some other place and don't make the horrible mistake of getting absinthe cause absinthe tastes like cow pee.

Soo here we go:

Absinthe - tastes like cow pee. But more like the cow has been dead for a long time. Martel really likes this drink but I seriously wonder sometimes if his taste buds maybe have died or something. 2/10 don't drink

Ale - mehhh. Unless Rjurik ale. Then YEEEES! Rjurik ale is amazing and you should definitely drink a lot of it when you can. But it is not always available unfortunately. In that case maybe try normal ale, but only if you have no other options because it tastes like...extra watery pee I guess. Very meh. 8/10 for Rjurik ale! 5/10 for normal ale.

Calvados - kind of fruity. Almost makes me feel healthy because fruit but then the enormous amount of alcohol doesn't really help, yes? Also tastes a lot like cat pee. 5/10 if you like fruit..I guess.

Mead - I love mead! I think this is one of the only drinks that does not vaguely remind me of pee somewhere. I love mead more than I love bacon I think and that says a lot. Mila and I got quite drunk of mead this one time but that was after I did something very stupid again. Is a bit of a long story but I will tell you if you buy me a drink sometime? Anyway here is a very simple rule for buying booze in Ridgeport: if there is mead, buy mead.

Oh you were waiting for more? Nope, that is it. That is the only rule you need.
11/10 doesn't get any better!

Gin - Ooh Martel let me try this once when we were doing guy things. It is very interesting, but mead is definitely better. Maybe 7/10?

Halfling wine - Bad idea. Very bad idea. Unless you have done something very very stupid Lina says I cannot write here because it is secret. Otherwise you will go blind.(Also wine tastes horrible) 1/10, would not recommend.

That is it. Egil's guide to buying booze. Have fun!

...Why are you still here? Go buy some mead!

(Oh you're wondering how I know what pee tastes like? Weeeeell...)
